Sunset-Sea in Jacobsbaai presents a luxurious, sea front, pet-friendly, family beachfront home in Mauritzbaai, one of 7 bays within Jacobsbaai.
This nature lover’s haven, as featured on Via TV’s “Platteland Toe” with Sean van Noordwyk, features a beautifully decorated beach house, a few steps from the sea. Providing unobstructed sea views and a rich birdlife experience.
The house boasts an open-plan, fully equipped farmhouse-style kitchen with an indoor fire/braai. It leads to a TV lounge with breath taking sea views. The wooden pool deck, complete with an outdoor braai and a sizable solar-heated splash pool, overlooks the bay, offering an al fresco dining experience for family and friends.
Our home with its charming thatched roof has a natural earthy aroma, this lends to the unique character of the magnificent exposed ceiling and the cozy, rustic feel of your stay.
Sunset-Sea In Jacobsbaai provides uncapped WiFi and a full suite DStv, supported by up to 3 hours of alternative power during load shedding. The accommodation comfortably sleeps 8 people, including children, in 4 rooms with 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite).

Nestled 20 minutes from Langebaan, Paternoster, and Saldanah, Jacobsbaai is a charming fisherman’s seaside village. Resulting in Sunset-Sea being the ideal hideaway, providing a tranquil escape while remaining a convenient base for day visits to the nearby hustle and bustle.
Restaurants shops and other delicacies
In Jacobsbaai, Daai Plekkie in die Weskus Restaurant, Karmanaadjie Farm Deli, or Bean & Leaf offer a convenient dining alternative for those who prefer not to cook.
Seafood enthusiasts can purchase crayfish, galjoen, kabeljou, Cape hottentot, white steenbras, and black mussels from fisherman boats or Paternoster. Whereas, for the adventurous at heart fresh crayfish is available with permits purchasable from the nearby post office in Vredenburg.
Explore Langebaan’s culinary scene at Restaurant’s in Mykonos, offering a variety to satisfy every heart’s desire. Similarly, don’t miss Die Strandloper for an all-you-can-eat local beach picnic or Thoban’s Chef arguably the best sushi in town.
Shop at Weskus Mall in Vredenburg and Laguna Mall in Langebaan, with numerous quaint shops in both Paternoster and Langebaan. In addition, Paternoster’s local theater, Die Koelkamers, proudly showcases our homegrown performing arts, featuring regular tribute shows.
Nature’s Delights
For sunbathers or joggers, a lengthy sandy beach near Hospital Bay near Daai Plekkie in die Weskus is perfect for a lazy day of tanning. Closer to home, there’s a small sandy and rock pool beach in front of the house, and a slightly larger beach area 100 meters to the left for swimming and kayak launch.
Jacobsbaai is renowned for its magnificent display of red poppies amid the West Coast’s beautiful wildflower spots. Witness the West Coast “snow” from August to September, with daisy white covering the veld. Over 1200 indigenous plants in various colors create a yearly experience not to be missed. Spot dolphins and whales from March to November, with Cape Fur Seals, Duikers, Grysbok, and Steenbok sometimes seen right in front of the house. Occasionally you can spot our resident Kite and Grysbokkie, right in-front of the house!
Day Trips
Venture 25km from Velddrift to the Rocherpan Nature Reserve a coastal haven teeming with birds and wildflowers. Since you’re close-by why not explore the furthest westerly destination, Cape Columbine Nature Reserve in Tietiesbaai, housing the last manually controlled lighthouse in South Africa – the Columbine Lighthouse. Lastly, discover the West Coast National Park and the Fossil Park at Langebaan captivating both old and young.
Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate short and longer trails near Swartriet and Tietiesbaai, while golfers can enjoy the Langebaan Golf Estate. Not to mention, Gonnemanskraal near Swartriet offers surfing and canoeing, scuba diving, horse riding, sunset cruises deep-sea fishing can be arranged via www.westcoastway.co.za.
